Actually "the very pretty bar timers" *are movable and there are all kinds of cooldown timers around.

Personally I like DXE because it's lightweight, has more accurate timers and imo presents the information much better than DBM.

@w01ph
You can currently move all of the timer and arrow modules -- simply click the "lock" button to unlock all of the bar anchors, and click again to relock.

Being unsure of what you mean by the "spell timer module" I can't help you with that one :)

since my first post, I have tried this out, and while i do like it, as raid leader, I can't justify using this over DBM with it's spell timer module... I also have to argue the point of it being more configurable than DBM.. yes, you can select which raid icons get used, otherwise, it's less configurable.. the very pretty bar timers are not movable.. something that is very important since I need to be able to see the center of my screen, which I cannot do when the bars drop down..

All in all, it's very pretty, does it's job very well, has some information that DBM does not include, while DBM also has some info available that this mod does not.. using this mod as a base to build from is excellent however.. and when they make it possible to move the timer bars, and add a spell timer module then I will make the switch without a second thought..

I have been using and enjoying this module ever since you featured it. The best part of it over DBM is how configurable it is. I use this to make it so that it is telling me LESS than DBM did rather than more, just in a more useful way.

The arrow is rarely used, but where it is most useful is on Icehowl when you are pined beside a column and unable to see the person who is getting charged. It appears in the Anub fight too, but visibility is rarely an issue.

@ Shadow - ok i'll bite. The fact is with the current state of things in regards to constant nerfs and badge gear people who would never see top tier content before ARE seeing it and they could very well be in your pug :P now more people seeing more content on the surface good but reality is you will be running with people who's awareness is crap, skill levels are low and who still think fire gives a buff. DXE is merely a tool mate, if you are good enough to raid without it then dont install it but mocking people who do use it (like Raid Leaders who want clear timers to make calls to said retards) is pretty shit lol

The arrow is merely a minor (and it is minor) feature of a great addon. I have nights when I am focussing so hard to watching others that a momentary brain fart happens, if an arrow means the diff between me living and dying while I'm in the middle of telling someone to not drop fire in melee then it's for the good.

Well, as the inability of players increases, the need for hand holding increases (squared).
I certainly hope this isn't the way things are going, because it means either the encounter mechanics will need to be made seriously more complex if people stop thinking completely and rely on an arrow to guide them.

Ah so this is a "continuance" of RDX... no wonder it looked familiar.

I would worry if people actually need an addon to be told which direction to run, since that means they have no idea what they're doing. I thought healbots were bad enough really.

Why would you want to play a game if the goal in that game is to do as little as possible yourself? Including thinking.

I quite like, although i still need to get used to the different sound alerts...i kinda miss the "Run away, little girl" from DBM. Is there a way to add that alert (or other custom sound alerts) from DMB into DXE?

It seems like the week of DXE -- I made the change about a month ago, and I must say I'm very happy with the results. The only thing I do miss is the battleground timers offered by DBM, but since I spend more raiding than PvPing it's worth the trade off.

About that little arrow -- although its great, it does not take away from the fact that you still need to know what to do when it pops up. It's been nice on Northrend Beasts when I get locked in on healing and need a quick heads up on which direction the flame is currently located.
