To clarify a few things:

Tidy Plates can only use one theme at a time (If you've installed both CleanPlates and ThreatPlates, Tidy Plates will choose whichever one it finds, first)

Tidy Plates doesn't handle positioning of the plates (Only the Blizzard UI is allowed to Show/Hide/Move the plates), but it can fade a plate by adjusting the Alpha channel.

The default theme for Tidy Plates also has a Tank Mode, which many have overlooked. It doesn't have the same in-game customizability that ThreatPlates does, but it works quite well, in my opinion. And, I like the way it looks. ;-) AND, it's a bit lighter on the resources than ThreatPlates.

I actually figured out that the threatplates wasn't working properly when combined with another scheme so once I disable it and used just Tidyplates and Threatplates together it worked fine. It has made tanking so much easier now and other people I have recommended the same combo to have told me how great it is.

There was a bug in ThreatPlates' first release after 3.3 came out, where threat sizing stopped working properly Make sure you're using the most recent version available from http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info14984-TidyPlatesThreatPlates.html

Using ThreatPlates, TidyPlates and _VirtualPlates, ThreatPlates is working as expected. Are you running any other TidyPlate styles? Maybe they don't play together.

I love this addon. It is been super helpful for me on any of my tanking/dps/healing toons. I can't get threatplates to work properly tho....at least I don't notice the change in size of the nameplate. Anyone else having this problem?

The default nameplates jump around alot because the code is trying to figure out how to show them all to you with no overlapping. Happily this behavior will become optional in 3.3. Here's the complete list of nameplate updates from the PTR notes:

Unit Nameplates

    * The range at which players can see unit nameplates has been increased by 40 yards.
    * Unit nameplates are now subject to line-of-sight limitations in certain situations (this does not pertain to objects like Arena pillars or bridges).
    * Players can now adjust select unit nameplate display settings listed below under Interface Options via the Names tab.
o Friendly/enemy pet nameplates can be toggled.
o Enemy totem nameplates can be toggled (friendly totem nameplates are never displayed).
o Players can choose whether or not unit nameplates overlap.

    * Unit nameplates for critters are never displayed.

@Matticus: Thank you muchly for your response. Wasn't expecting one so quickly! I'm installing this now to see if it makes things a little easier for my poor Pally-tank. Thanks for the recommendation; Great blog, by the way. Well, both of them. :P

@ Clockwork

I think 3.3 will fix your issue. You can toggle between nameplates overlapping (no annoying jumping around) or the display version we have now on live.

If you just want pretty nameplates, I'd go with caelNameplates

http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info13961-caelNameplates.html

Then open the .lua files and direct the addon to font/statusbar (default font is ugly and hard to read IMO) you're using in your layout, et voila!
