Replace Your Mount UI with Equus Infinata

Here’s a spiffy addon by luckrunsout. It’s called Equus Infinata and it’s designed to overhaul your mount UI.

To be more specific, EI can filter your mounts by:

  • Speed
  • Species
  • Colour
  • Number of passengers

If you wanted to know exactly how many gryphons you had, now you know. Want to give someone a lift but can’t remember which ones carry an extra passenger or two? The filters handle that easy.

There’s a few extra commands that you can benefit from.

/ei all – Summons the fastest available mount at random depending on your location and skill

/ei <filter> – Summons a mount from a filter of your choice (/ei blue or /ei kodo or /ei SlowGround as examples)

equus-2

No filters active.

equus-3

Current filters enabled are any tigers that aren’t capable of carrying other passengers.

    Wahoo, I got pimped! I was wondering why I got so many downloads this morning XD

    Anyway, jumping in to say that before anyone else requests it, I’m already working on a pet version called Lepus Infinata. Keep an eye out for it in the next week or so. :D

    And I was just about to ask about a pet version. You beat me to it!

    Does this seperate 310 flyers from other epic flyers?

    By default yes, but this can be changed in the options. I realised that most people only have 1 or 2, and naking the addon default to the fastest isn’t too exciting in that case.

    That I can’t seem to be able to make custom filters breaks it for me. Too bad, cuss it has potential :-) I just want to be able to make a custom filter that I can add xyz pets to, like I can with Mountiful, the only thing mountiful can’t do is mix different speed mounts if I am correct. Not well anyway.

    Also, it doesn’t recognize the Rusted Proto-Drake as a 310% mount, which sux, but is prolly just a misstype in the config somewhere. Mountiful (what I use now) actually doesn’t recognize the Purple Proto-Drake, so the bug is vice-versa.

    Other then that, good mod :-)

  6. LuckRunsOut on Sunday, December 27, 2009

    Well, I used Mountiful as my base code for making Equus (with permission from the author, of course). Custom filters were certainly available back then, but my early attempts at making my ideas work broke 90% of the original features. Though most have worked their way back in, custom groups isn’t done yet. I might work on it one day.

    As for the Rusted Proto-Drake, thanks for the tip, I’ll patch it in for the next release. I’ve hardcoded the entire mount database so there are a few errors in there, slowly coming to light as more people start using it.

  7. LuckRunsOut on Sunday, December 27, 2009

    The Rusted (and Ironbound) Proto-Drake is fixed in v1.5.3, which is working through Curse’s system this morning. Custom groups has got me thinking, and I do quite like the idea, so I’ll promise you this: it’ll be done for v2.0 (which is my next planned big release).

    Sure thing, looking forward too it :-) Mountifull seems a bit abandoned so I would very much like a new mod and yours is looking more attractive as is already!

    I love when people use latinate words with no regard to noun-verb inflection agreement.

    Yaaaay.

    I did the best I can with a £4.99 dictionary and no prior training, dangit! XD
    Am I right in thinking it should be Equus Infinitus? Probably won’t bother changing it anyway.

    Hiya,

    Mimiron’s Head is not there also, rendering the mod unusable (errors all the time, doesn’t change the mount pane). I added the definition for the head in…

    ["Mimiron's Head"] = {
    speed=”UberFastFly”,
    passengers=”NoPassengers”,
    species=”Mechanical”,
    from=”Drop”,
    obtainable=”Y”,
    colour1=”Yellow”,
    colour2=”Brown”,
    faction=”N”,
    got=”0″,
    },

    … as well as adding it to the bottom of the PosToName list. Hope that helps.

    Also, the species for the Swift Zhevra probably ought to be “Horse” (currently “Zebra”) to stop the mod erroring all the time (line 1511, nil reference related to species). Using 1.5.4. :)

    if u can get this to work together with collectme and guppet i’m your slave

    Footrot,
    Okay, wow. That’s the kind of bug report I like. XD
    I didnt realise I’d missed Zebra off the master list of species. Changing it to horse is probably sensible. I’ll get those two fixed and release it as v1.5.5 today. Thanks very much!

    grimmeld,
    Nice addons, I’ve never seen those two before. CollectMe seems to do everything I was hoping to do at some stage. GupPet looks complicated, but also has a few of the features I was after.
    I think compatibility with CollectMe may be impossible since it too is a replacement for the default mount UI. As for GupPet, does it actually choke? Judging by the screenshots it should work fine. I’ll look into it. :)

    guppet and collectme both doe not replace the default UI. They each add a button to the default mount UI.

    As far as my puny programmer skills go (and fiddling around with existing UI’s xml files :P) i’d say that should be a lot easier two integrate those 2 buttons and give them a new home in ur UI addon ^^.

    And i can’t express how much you should try the addons, collectme work great in finding pets/mounts you haven’t gotten yet and guppet is damn handy for creating a mount/pet list of which to randomly (even prioritize if u want through advanced mode) choose from when hitting the pet/mount button (even flying and ground seperate if u like). Also note Guppet can collaberate with collectme (the list pets you have(n’t) obtained with filters even like TCG pets, PVP, promotional and others.

    Thanks for your reply and thnx for looking into it :D.

    Greetz,

    Grimmeld.

    also i think ye misspelled the Swift Birgundy Wolf -> Swift Burgundy Wolf ;) dunno if ye had it fixed already.

  19. LuckRunsOut on Sunday, December 27, 2009

    Thanks grimmeld. Finding a home for the buttons shouldn’t be hard at all, I’ll certainly get it done for v2.0. (Yeah, a lot of stuff is being done in v2.0…)

    The features you’ve mentioned from CollectMe and GupPet sound awesome, but they’re all on my “to-do” list for Equus. I honestly had no idea there were addons out there that did this already. At any rate, I’ll still be working on them for the future.

    As for the Burgundy Wolf, that should have been fixed in v1.5.2, and a quick check of the recent files says I don’t think I’ve broken it since then. Let me know if it’s causing you trouble in the recent versions and I’ll take a look.

    I play a Tauren and was wondering if I could make a macro handle one of several qualifiers to summon a mount in Dalaran that I can ride into the sewers without hitting my head, such as by summoning either one of my wolves OR one of my kodos?

  22. LuckRunsOut on Sunday, December 27, 2009

    Hey DJScythe,
    Multiple features from a single field is actually near the top of my to-do list. It sounds quite simple but requires a bit of a rewrite of my current filter code.
    Of course, now that it’s been requested, I’ll get on it. Expect v1.6 with this feature added soon :)
