Want to know exactly what the killing blow was on a player? Check out Fatality. Fairly light weight and it’s straight to the point. Not exactly the most newbie configurable addon though since the Fatality.lua needs to be edited manually. It can announce in specific channels the last hit a person took before they bit the dust.
Get it on WoW Interface or Curse.

does pretty much the same thing without configurin the lua files. shows 15-20 (u can set it up) lines of heals and damage incoming to a person.

Anyway, I said (weeks ago) that two other good ones are Obituary and Casualty. Obituary can be configured without wading through the LUA, and Casualty has an audio element to it.
@mV: the point of the addon was to give you a heads up whenever someone dies to something, so that you know right away.
